If you’re curious and haven’t checked out the other posts, claiming is still open! However, this post is officially for those who want to provide any of their beta-ing services to our current writers :)

Welcome to the Claiming & Self-Prompting post! As the mods initially introduced in the Introduction & Guidelines and Prompting post, this round of kaifectionery is a fic fest. For those who are unsure what a fic fest is, it’s basically where fans—new and old alike—leave as many prompts and ideas as they want. Writers, in turn, will be able to see these prompts and ideas and if they see one that screams out to them “hey, you’re wonderful, please write me” then they’re going to be able to claim your beauty and write a story about it!

For this round, kaifectionery has accumulated 275 new prompts! The old prompts from last year’s collection will be added as well as a self-prompting option for those who wish to write a prompt of their own. Below, you will be able to see all the prompts, read how to claim and/or self-prompt one, and start your story for the new batch!

Round 2017: Introduction & Guidelines

⚓ WELCOME TO KAIFECTIONERY ⚓

Hello, Sweets! We would like to welcome you all to the second round of kaifectionery. This round will continue to be a fic fest, where we will accept prompts and gather them all into a spreadsheet for future claimers to view and claim, and we will run on CST (Central Standard Time).

Along with the new layout, we have some several changes:

⚓ Because of the recent LiveJournal changes, Dreamwidth will now be our main posting platform but all future story links will be hyperlinked to our new AO3 account, which you can find here.
⚓ All of the entries within kaifectionery’s LiveJournal have been transferred to kaifectionery’s moderator Dreamwidth account. We have posted and adjusted all the links as necessary for the Prompt Adoption post and Masterlist and Reveals in the kaifectionery Dreamwidth community.
⚓ The 2016 prompts from last year will also be available for claiming this year, as long as it hasn’t been previously taken.

One day, Kris dreading the regular schedule when Jongin knocks on his door, bringing him his usual afternoon beverage on a tray. But instead is surprised with something else entirely.
Author's Note: Thanks to the sweet and sour mods at the kaifectionary fest who allowed me to sign up a week before the original closing date in December, and also to extend the deadline for another week. And thanks to my friend, who recommended that I try this fest, as she was already very involved in her story (now stories) in this kaifectionary. She sees my ideas and then a large failure to finish anything. You should read her stories as well....
This story is a number of firsts, my first ever pairing using, Kris and Jongin together, actually having Kris and Jongin as the leads in a story, first ever festival with a real deadline (feeling a little adultish), first time submitting a piece of writing in over three years, first time completing a story in over three years (hence the hiatus).

Author's Note: actually the prompt lists "death" as sours, but as for myself I couldn't think about a single nightmare to such an extent which is not related to death, that's why I couldn't help but write this bittersweet story the way it is.
