⚓ CLAIMING & SELF-PROMPTING IS OPEN ⚓
Welcome to the Claiming & Self-Prompting post! As the mods initially introduced in the Introduction & Guidelines and Prompting post, this round of kaifectionery is a fic fest. For those who are unsure what a fic fest is, it’s basically where fans—new and old alike—leave as many prompts and ideas as they want. Writers, in turn, will be able to see these prompts and ideas and if they see one that screams out to them “hey, you’re wonderful, please write me” then they’re going to be able to claim your beauty and write a story about it!
For this round, kaifectionery has accumulated 275 new prompts! The old prompts from last year’s collection will be added as well as a self-prompting option for those who wish to write a prompt of their own. Below, you will be able to see all the prompts, read how to claim and/or self-prompt one, and start your story for the new batch!
Basic Rules;
⚓ Anyone can claim a prompt as long as you have a LJ, AFF, AO3, or Dreamwidth account. You can even use your Tumblr, if that’s your chosen platform. You must also have an email (one that you check often!); it’s required. There is a section to leave your username I have made as required, but if you prefer to remain anonymous at the end during reveals, please don’t hesitate to put a slash, period, or something else to indicate it.
⚓ You may only claim one prompt at a time. If you complete your chosen prompt early and have submitted it in its entirety, you are free to claim another prompt. Simply talk to me (Mod Sun, who was originally Mod Sour) first so there aren’t any misunderstandings.
⚓ You are free to drop out if you feel you cannot write your story anymore. Please, don’t feel apologetic or you need to make up excuses for it! This fest is meant to be as stress-free as possible. You can vent to me as little or as much as you”d like, if that’d help and if you’d like. I would like to request that you let me know as soon as you can/know if you want/need to drop out as well.
⚓ The final draft of your fic must be 2,500 words, no less. However, feel free to write a novel if inspiration hits! (Please note that there are also check-ins, which will be further explained and set out with emails a week or two before it starts.)
⚓ If you are choosing to self-prompt, please make sure there isn’t already a similar prompt in any of the spreadsheets provided. If you’d like to make sure beforehand, please feel free to ask me and I can double-check :)
⚓ Please remember kaifectionery will not accept any prompts with included themes of noncon/dubcon, incest, and pedophilia. This includes stories as well. Please make sure you don’t accidentally write anything that may indicate or explicitly say any of these themes.
⚓ As the last notes, please remember your works must be able to stand alone. They shouldn’t be sequels of previous stories, because then that could give you away! You’re supposed to stay anonymous until reveals; so, please don’t spoil the fun! ;u;

Guidelines;
⚓ The prompt archive is the first link provided below. Click on it to view all prompts by All Prompts 2017, Prompts by Pairing, All Prompts 2016, and Trigger Warning Prompts. I (along with Hidden Mod) have reviewed all prompts and separated possible trigger prompts accordingly. If you do not see your prompt, it is likely we have deleted it because it violated one of kaifectionery’s rules (and you haven’t checked your email about it.) If you see a prompt that may be triggering but we haven’t marked it as so, please let us know immediately.
⚓ Once you’ve reviewed/skimmed/ogled all the prompts, take notes on which ones you want to claim. Narrow those choices down to three: one you want to write the most as your number one choice and then two more, in case your first most favorite prompt is (sadly?) already taken.
⚓ When you have your list, go ahead and open up the claiming form that’s linked below the prompt archive! Please fill it out accordingly and then wait for your confirmation email. I’ll try to get that sent out to you ASAP, so you don’t have to wait very long.
